Disney’s Hollywood Studios – February 2016
I have really fallen behind on the February vacation in Orlando, haven’t I? Well, all that’s left is DHS and Animal Kingdom. Guess we should hurry this along, eh? This time we’ll be taking a look at Hollywood Studios and watching as it slowly goes into construction mode. We say goodbye to large chunks of Hollywood Studios and Disney-MGM from all around the park. At the end of all the construction walls and attraction closures will be things like Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land. Which is excellent, except there’s not much left holding up this park other than Star Tours, Tower of Terror, Rockin’ Rollercoaster and Toy Story Midway Mania. At night you got the spectacular Star Wars fireworks – if anything I’d watch this over Fantasmic! any day. Even better yet, they should be gearing up to an even better firework presentation which will use projections and other effects to go along with the the fireworks. In the end, it can be a hard call to hit up a park half its original size at the moment, but if you are, sleep in and make FastPass+ reservations for the second half of the day and then stay for the fireworks. That’s what we did.
